Infused with the belief that many gospel songs somehow left out the "gospel", I began
writing again. I birthed song after song and celebrated the fact that they were born
out of the scriptures and not just a desire or ability to write. In my study, I learned
that gospel music doesn’t give us a message. The “message" (gospel) - gives us the music. I
began writing songs, and the Lord encouraged me to provide a greater biblical
understanding of those songs. So I wrote biblical interpretations of the songs. I had
no idea that those writings would become the companion book, “The Music of the
Message”. I hope you will take it upon yourself to not only enjoy the CD but feed
